Prepping for a Snow Day

That's right.... we have our second snow day of the winter season here in Long Island. I am working from home and the kiddies are home with me. NO BIG DEAL. Well.... sort of. I had to plan the night before . :)

First, what do I have going on tomorrow?

When is my first conference call?

What time should I pump?

Should I let the kiddies sleep in and throw off their nap and food schedules so I can work? (Nope!)

When should I let the dogs out?

What should I take out for dinner? (Hmm, should my husband just pick up a pizza on the way home?)

It's time to mom (not that that ever really stops)

Here are some activities planned to help make the day a little bit easier:

  1. Coloring! My 2 year old loves to color so I already have her washable markers and crayons ready to go on her craft table with her favorite coloring books.

  2. The ball pit! Down to the basement we go! She can be entertained for hours downstairs where she has her ball pit, a slide, a food truck, an ice cream shop and more. It's easy for me to watch her while the baby naps or doing some tummy time on the mat.

  3. Prepping for Valentine's Day! Valentine's Day is just 13 days away. I have some friends exchange cards and toys for her to pack for her cousin and friends. Why not!

  4. TV! Yes, I am absolutely ok with a little TV especially on a day when I have to work too. Fancy Nancy, here we come!

  5. Food prep! I find it that when I food prep for my toddler, I feed her healthier food instead of throwing chicken nuggets in the oven. So, make some broccoli and place left over meat from dinner in a container for lunch. For my infant, thaw my frozen breastmilk overnight and place it in bottles in the morning before he wakes up.

Does everything go as planned? Not always but for me, it makes life a little easier being prepared.
